The CHBEB  three-phase pad-mounted transformer is specially designed for high-intensity and high-capacity power distribution applications. It offers expandable capacities of 2500 kVA, 2550 kVA, and 3000 kVA. With a high-voltage input of 34.5 kV and precise step-down to 480 V (60 Hz), it is an ideal solution for heavy industrial parks, utility substations, and large commercial power distribution networks.

Its enclosed tamper-resistant housing ensures safe and reliable operation in outdoor environments and other areas exposed to external interference.

Product Features

This American-style three-phase pad-mounted transformer has a rated power of 2500 kVA (2.5 MVA). The primary voltage of this 2500 kVA pad-mounted transformer is 13.2/7.62 kV, using a wye connection with the high-voltage H0 grounded. The secondary voltage is 600Y/347V, also using a wye connection with the low-voltage H0 grounded.

The 2500 kVA transformer produced by CHBEB has a wide range of applications and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor installation. The transformer uses biodegradable vegetable oil as the insulating fluid, with a temperature rise not exceeding 65°C.

It is equipped with three ELSP fuses, three bayonet fuses, three high-voltage bushings, three high-voltage elbow-type surge arresters, and four low-voltage bushings (each bushing with six holes). The low-voltage terminal mounting position is reinforced with a mounting pad.

In addition, this 2500 kVA pad-mounted transformer is equipped with a four-position load-break switch and a five-position tap changer on the high-voltage side.

Maintenance Guide for 2500 kVA Three Phase Pad Mounted Transformer

Pad-mounted transformers generally do not require maintenance after installation. However, due to various factors such as product configuration and actual project conditions, maintenance becomes necessary.

The surface treatment of the enclosure does not require frequent maintenance, but regular inspection is needed to prevent corrosion.

Pad-mounted transformers are usually filled with FR3 insulating oil, which has a high flash point, excellent electrical and thermal properties, high insulation strength, good lubricity, strong arc extinguishing capability, is non-toxic, and can be biodegraded, causing less harm to the environment and health.

However, some pad-mounted transformers are also filled with 25# ordinary mineral oil, and inert gas is filled in the upper part of the oil tank to prevent moisture. If this work is not carried out, the performance will decline, and the sealing performance will be lower than 7 psig, so the oil needs to be replaced regularly.

Pad-mounted transformers do not have oil temperature protection, but are only equipped with thermometers, plug-in fuses, and pressure relief valves. The operating condition of the fuses and the leakage condition of the enclosure need to be checked regularly.

The oil tank of pad-mounted transformers is exposed and is easily damaged by external impact. Regular inspections are required to prevent oil leakage.
