Structural Features of 300 kVA 6.6 kV Three-Phase Oil-Immersed Distribution Transformer
Except for small-capacity copper wire, the low-voltage winding of three-phase oil-immersed transformers generally adopts a cylindrical structure with copper foil wound around the shaft; the high-voltage winding adopts a multi-layer cylindrical structure, making the ampere-turn distribution of the winding balanced. The leakage magnetic distribution is reasonable, the mechanical strength is high, and the short-circuit resistance is strong.
The core and winding of the three-phase oil-immersed transformer have added more reliable fastening structures respectively. The fastening parts such as the high-voltage and low-voltage leads of the transformer are equipped with self-locking anti-loosening nuts, and adopt a non-suspended fixed structure to ensure transportation safety.
The coil and core are vacuum dried, and the transformer oil adopts vacuum oil filtering and oil filling process, reducing the moisture inside the transformer to a lower level.
The oil tank adopts a fully sealed corrugated sheet structure, which can compensate for oil volume changes caused by temperature changes. The oil conservator is canceled, reducing the height of the transformer and adapting to more installation scenarios.
Since the corrugated sheet replaces the oil conservator, together with the fully sealed oil tank, the transformer oil is isolated from the outside, which can effectively reduce the entry of oxygen and moisture, and avoid insulation performance decline caused by oil aging and moisture.
Optional Configurations
CHBEB’s 300 kVA 6.6 kV Three-Phase Oil-Immersed Distribution Transformer can be fully customized to meet your specific needs. Optional configurations include different types of tap changers, such as manual tap changers and on-load tap changers, which can adjust voltage during transformer operation. Enhanced protection devices such as gas relays, gas-driven relays and temperature sensors can be added to monitor the internal status of the equipment and ensure operational safety under fault conditions. The transformer can also be equipped with special bushings such as composite bushings and porcelain bushings to adapt to different voltage levels and environmental conditions.
For installation scenarios with complex working conditions, anti-corrosion coatings, outdoor protective enclosures, and special insulating oils such as biodegradable insulating oil and high-performance insulating oil can be selected to extend the service life of the transformer. In addition, noise reduction devices such as soundproof covers and shock absorbers can be equipped to achieve low-noise operation. At the same time, insulation class and cooling methods can be customized, such as natural oil circulation natural air cooling ONAN, natural oil circulation forced air cooling ONAF, etc. The product can comply with IEC, IEEE and other industry standards and related certifications to ensure that the equipment meets local regulations and performance requirements.

About distribution transformer prices
At present, the market quotation for 300 kVA transformers is roughly between USD 2,207 and USD 10,300, and even higher-end customized models can reach more than USD 14,714. This price difference is mainly determined by type and material. For example, for the basic S-M series oil-immersed 300 kVA transformer, an all-aluminum model can be purchased for about USD 2,722, while an all-copper model costs around USD 3,384 to USD 4,561. Dry-type transformers are generally more expensive. The SCB series all-copper model is basically between USD 4,708 and USD 7,210. If it is the SCB14 series with a higher energy efficiency level, the price can exceed USD 7,945. Dry-type and oil-immersed transformers have more advantages and disadvantages, and the specific choice needs to be made according to the actual installation conditions of the project.
Here are two real cases from CHBEB: last year, a customer in Uzbekistan needed to purchase a 300 kV transformer due to capacity expansion. Considering outdoor installation, they finally chose an all-copper winding oil-immersed distribution transformer, and the final cost was USD 4,414. In the same situation, an Afghan customer spent USD 7,357 because he needed indoor installation and had low energy consumption requirements, so he chose an SCB series dry-type transformer. This is the price difference brought by transformer type and application scenario.

In addition to type and application scenario, energy efficiency level is also a key factor affecting the price of a 300 kVA transformer. The first-level energy efficiency SCB series is nearly USD 5,885 more expensive than the third-level energy efficiency SCB series. Although the former has a higher initial investment, it can save a lot of electricity costs in long-term use and is suitable for high-load factories or shopping malls.
